Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Richard Alipio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alpha Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Richard Alipio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alpha Dog!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alipio drives through with a takedown into Dog's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Alipio stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dog swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Alipio got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dog has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Alipio has managed to get both his arms back between Dog's legs - danger averted.

Dog is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Alipio makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Alipio lands a couple of digs.
Dog is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Alipio passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Dog tries to improve position but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alipio in side control, throwing shots but Dog defends.
Dog is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Alipio is pressing down on Dog's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dog is holding on for now.

Alipio is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Dog tries to get to full guard but Alipio has control of the leg.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dog is looking to control Alipio's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dog avoid being mounted?
Alipio trying to mount his opponent but Dog defends it.
Alipio works his way into side control.
Alipio lands some shots froms side control.
Dog gets back to half guard.
Dog is looking for a sweep. Alipio is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Alipio is nestled in close to Dog, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Alipio throwing shots but Dog is blocking nicely.
Alipio prevents Dog from improving his position.
Dog has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Alipio is working away from the top position though.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Alipio connects with a nice short shot to Dog's temple.
Dog tries to roll over but Alipio keeps him under control.
Alipio not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Dog gets full guard.

Dog throws his legs up looking for a submission but Alipio uses it to pass to side control.
Dog takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.


Dog is rocked!

Dog is still in real trouble! Can Alipio finish him?
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Alipio lands a strong strike to the head of Dog. That's dazed him! Alipio looking to finish here. Dog is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Alipio lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Richard Alipio!
