PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Dawg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). White comes to the cage accompanied by Doperide by Saliva. Dawg comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Boom Boom Boom kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake White!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Dawg!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

White shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dawg is trying desperately to improve position.
Dawg tries to lock up and control but White gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
White cracks Dawg with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
White landing punches.

White avoids the attempt from Dawg to control.

Dawg is squirming around, avoiding White's attempts to control the action.

White looking to secure an arm triangle but Dawg defends it well.

White wants to control but Dawg is keeping him busy.
White content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
White is keen to just control but Dawg is a slippery customer.
White is pressing down on Dawg's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dawg is holding on for now.

Dawg wants to control but White passes into side.

White lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Dawg down.
White has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dawg is looking to regain half guard here but White keeps moving and retains side control.
White lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

White is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dawg knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Dawg closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
White has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dawg is working away from the top position though.

Dawg is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Dawg tries to pass to full mount but White defends it.
Dawg throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
White keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Dawg thows a huge punch but White dodges it nicely.
White is trying to control but can't.
White has hold of Dawg's hands but Dawg slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dawg drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

White throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Dawg cracks White with a solid left hand.
White has Dawg pulled in close to control his posture.
White controls Dawg momentarily but Dawg frees himself.
White looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dawg is one step ahead there.

Dawg trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
White not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Dawg throws a big right hand that misses.
Dawg tries to free his leg and advance position but White is retaining full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Dawg has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Jim Dawg has been cut.
White's corner calls for a 1-2. White obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

White feints and as Dawg raises his hands in defense, White changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
White trying to control but Dawg is working from the bottom.
Dawg trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Dawg looking for a sweep. Not yet Dawg, not yet.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells White's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dawg wants to sweep here but White controlling him for the moment.
Dawg manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
White regains half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake White dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jim Dawg's cut.
That's time! White's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Dawg takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Dawg shoots in but no luck this time.
Dawg on the wrong end of a nice hook.
White moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


Dawg is rocked!
White stuffs the takedown attempt from Dawg. Dawg gets slowly back to his feet.
Dawg is still on wobbly legs! Can White finish him?

White drives through with a takedown into guard.
White lands a couple of elbows.
Dawg wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and White manages to pass to side control.
Dawg trying to get back to full guard but White takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Dawg seems to have recovered his senses.
Dawg is looking to get to half guard.

White has hold of Dawg's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Dawg manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

White wants to control the pace but Dawg is squirming around nicely.

White is in the full mount, landing strikes.
White takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

White is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Dawg is surviving well by controlling White's body position as best he can.

Dawg thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Dawg has momentary wrist control but White slips an elbow through the middle.

White is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

White has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Dawg off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Dawg closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dawg lands in his opponent's guard.

White will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Jim Dawg has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dawg accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Dawg postures up in White's guard and throws a big left but White blocks it.

White lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Dawg!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, White cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
White lands a big shot there that rocks Dawg but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Dawg is in a horrible position here. White smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Dawg tries to hold on but White pushes him away.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jake White.
Well White has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
