PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Monkey Luffy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jakob Tyler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyler has chosen Throw the Heat - Mortician as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Monkey Luffy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jakob Tyler!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Fedor Mirinova and Ivan Kurochkin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tyler lands a really nice looking cross but Luffy seems unphased.

Tyler closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Luffy to the mat! Luffy manages to get full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Luffy lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Tyler!
Tyler is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Tyler is trying to reverse the position but instead Luffy has taken his back - oops!
Tyler breaks Luffy's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Luffy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Luffy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tyler doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tyler manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Luffy drops back looking for a leg! Tyler is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tyler manages to kick Luffy off! Luffy jumps back into Tyler's guard.

Luffy is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tyler is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Luffy postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tyler tries to buck Luffy off but Luffy is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Monkey Luffy dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Luffy misses with a takedown attempt - Tyler sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Luffy shoots in looking for a takedown but Tyler manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Luffy's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jakob Tyler showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Luffy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tyler tries to avoid it but Luffy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tyler to the ground. Tyler escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Luffy takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

and Tyler counters with a nice double leg into side control. Luffy won't be happy with that.
Oh Luffy is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
