Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andrei East (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). East comes to the cage accompanied by AC/DC - Highway To Hell . Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Andrei East!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Anderson Maia!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Vladimir Khabensky and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
East uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Maia.
Maia tries to score a power double leg takedown but East sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Maia somewhat.
East moves into range and connects with a jab.
East misses with an uppercut
and Maia counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
East throws a leg kick but Maia sees it coming and moves out of range.
Anderson Maia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maia slips under a jab from East.
East ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Maia moves away.
Maia ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Maia throws a sloppy body shot
and East counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
East fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Maia takes a swing at East's ribcage but misses.

Maia throws a lazy right hand but East sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

East is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Maia.
Maia throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
East moves out of range as Maia strikes.
Maia moves forwards but East connects with a nice, crisp jab.

and East counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
East works his way into full mount!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
East avoids the attempt from Maia to control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Maia is squirming around, avoiding East's attempts to control the action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


East wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Maia throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around East's waist but East gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Maia off to one side.

Maia closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

A frustrated look appears on Maia's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Maia pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
East throws a hook to the side of Maia's head but Maia sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Maia tries to sprawl but East drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Maia is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of East's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take East's back!

East is looking for a sweep. Maia is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Maia is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, East has managed to free his arm - good work.
The fighters are battling for position here. East manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

East looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Maia won't allow East to sweep him here.

Maia is working East over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Andrei East has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Maia tries a head kick but it misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Andrei East will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



The fight moves into the clinch position.
East changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Maia fights it off and pushes away nicely.
A big right from Maia misses.
Nice uppercut lands for East. That snapped Maia's head back.
East shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Maia as he jumps to the side.
East ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Maia instigates a clinch.
Maia stalls.

East misses with a hook to the ribs.
East lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Maia or not.
East is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrei East. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A left hand lands to the body for East.
Maia blocks a body shot from East.

Maia's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Maia throws a body punch but East moves out of range.

East thuds a left hand into Maia's body.
Maia looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

East jabbing away but nothing is landing.
East tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Maia manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
East lands a nice shot to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Anderson Maia has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

East slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Maia has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but East can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Maia tries to work over East's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Maia stalling in the clinch but East improves position.
Maia misses with some punches.

And that's the end of the fight!
Andrei East showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for East, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
