These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walls throws a right hand that misses
and Werdum counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Walls shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Walls was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Poor strikes thrown by Walls there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Werdum is looking to improve his position but Walls isn't that keen on the idea.
Walls is landing with some decent strikes but Werdum is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Walls throws some wild stikes that Werdum manages to avoid easily.
Werdum holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Walls tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Walls lands a heavy elbow.
Werdum blocking the ground and pound.
Walls wants to control the pace but Werdum is squirming around nicely.

Walls unloads with some shots from mount but Werdum bucks and avoids them well.
Walls looking to control but Werdum is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Werdum is bucking up trying to escape but Walls cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walls postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Werdum out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Walls goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
