Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pete Marchetti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nelson Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marchetti comes to the cage accompanied by Meshuggah - Bleed. Pete Marchetti has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pete Marchetti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nelson Walker!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Walker drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Marchetti looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Marchetti wants to sweep here but Walker controlling him for the moment.
Walker tries to free his leg and advance position but Marchetti is retaining full guard.

Walker postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Marchetti is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Walker, into his guard.
Walker bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Marchetti's guard.
Walker should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Walker works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Walker connects with a nice short shot to Marchetti's temple.

Walker is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Marchetti escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Walker gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Walker stands and throws Marchetti's legs to the side, diving into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Walker must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Marchetti is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Walker has his foot on Marchetti's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Marchetti works his way back into a safe position though.

Walker controls Marchetti momentarily but Marchetti frees himself.

Marchetti avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Walker has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Walker wants to sweep but no luck.

Walker working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Marchetti doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Marchetti manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Walker had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Marchetti is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Walker Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Marchetti's back instead.

Marchetti prevents Walker from getting a body triangle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nelson Walker dominated that round.
That's time! Marchetti's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Marchetti throws a sloppy head kick and Walker moves out of range easily.

Walker is pushing down on Marchetti's leg trying to pass to half guard. Marchetti is fighting to maintain full guard but Walker has managed to sneak the leg through.

Walker wants to work for an arm triangle but Marchetti is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Walker takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Walker blocks the strikes from Marchetti.
Walker wants to lay and pray for a moment but Marchetti keeps working.
Walker tries to pass the half guard into mount. Marchetti knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Marchetti regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Walker.
Walker wants to control from the top but Marchetti keeps moving.
Nelson Walker has got the better of the ground game so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Walker wants to pass the guard but Marchetti is keeping the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Walker fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Marchetti, pushing him back against the cage.

Walker has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Marchetti is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Walker is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Marchetti is pressed up against the cage. Walker has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Marchetti down to the mat. Marchetti avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Pete Marchetti is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
