The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mitchell closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Bateman's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Bateman trying to control the position.
Mitchell is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Bateman wriggles free and stands up.
Mitchell fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Mitchell shoots in for a double leg but Bateman sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Bateman scores with a leg kick.
Mitchell throws a left and a right that both miss
and Bateman counters with a slapping leg kick.

Mitchell swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Bateman counters with a two punch combo.
Mitchell thows a body shot but no joy.
Mitchell misses with a looping right.
Mitchell swings for the body but Bateman moves out of range.

Mitchell shoots in for a takedown but Bateman shows good takedown defense.
Patrick Bateman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aiden Mitchell.

Mitchell misses with a combination
and Bateman counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Mitchell swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bateman with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Mitchell fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Mitchell changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bateman clobbers Mitchell with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Mitchell lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Bateman has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Bateman and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Bateman gets caught napping as Mitchell dives in and scores a takedown. Bateman manages to retain guard.
Bateman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Mitchell stops Bateman from standing up.

Mitchell is sitting in close to Bateman's body. Bateman has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Mitchell is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Mitchell is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Bateman.
