Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between The Purple From Down Under (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fuego Salsa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fuego Salsa is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, The Purple From Down Under!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fuego Salsa!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Sergei Dronov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like Fuego Salsa has been cut.
From Down Under throws an off balance right hand

and Salsa counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
From Down Under wants to control but Salsa is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Salsa is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, From Down Under has managed to free his arm - good work.
Salsa trying to mount his opponent but From Down Under defends it.
Salsa wants to take a breather but From Down Under is having none of it.

Salsa is working for a kimura but From Down Under is defending it quite comfortably.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Salsa is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Salsa is trying to control. From Down Under wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

From Down Under is in trouble now - Salsa has advanced to mount!

Salsa wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.

Salsa moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, From Down Under has worked his arm free - good work by From Down Under!

From Down Under prevents Salsa from moving into mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Salsa working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Salsa can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as From Down Under is looking to escape.

Salsa goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now From Down Under is on top in guard.
From Down Under postures up in Salsa's guard and throws a big left but Salsa blocks it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

From Down Under gets to his feet. Salsa looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
From Down Under swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Salsa.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Salsa tries to advance to mount but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fuego Salsa dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Fuego Salsa's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


From Down Under misses with a head kick.
Salsa shoots in looking for a takedown but From Down Under manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Salsa's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Salsa bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
From Down Under throws a hook to the side of Salsa's head but Salsa sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
From Down Under looks to land a combination but Salsa avoids it well.
From Down Under throws a head kick but Salsa moves out of range.
Salsa looks to land a left hand but From Down Under moved out of range nicely.
From Down Under ducks under a wild hook from Salsa.
From Down Under tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Salsa paws at him with a jab and circles away.
From Down Under will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

From Down Under lunges at Salsa with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Salsa's hand.
From Down Under tries to close the distance and clinch up but Salsa swats him away and circles back towards the center.
From Down Under misses with a left hand
and Salsa connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
From Down Under throws a hook to the side of Salsa's head but Salsa sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
From Down Under misses with a few strikes there.
Salsa shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts From Down Under as he jumps to the side.
From Down Under moves out of range of the strikes.
Salsa slips a jab from From Down Under.
Salsa shoots in looking for a takedown but From Down Under manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Salsa's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
The Purple From Down Under has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fuego Salsa.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Salsa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but From Down Under swivels and escapes.
From Down Under throws a right and a left that Salsa avoids nicely.

From Down Under misses with a short punch on the inside.

From Down Under tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Salsa has From Down Under pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. From Down Under manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

From Down Under gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Salsa.

From Down Under lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

From Down Under swings wildly with an uppercut but Salsa uses good head movement to avoid it.
Salsa is still on wobbly legs! Can From Down Under finish him?
From Down Under throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Salsas head.
Salsa tries to score a body lock takedown but From Down Under shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
From Down Under tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

From Down Under pushes Salsa back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
From Down Under throws a big uppercut that drops Salsa! More strikes from From Down Under and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Salsa lies dazed against the cage as From Down Under celebrates with his cornermen!
