Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rusty Halo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Country (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roy Country is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Country is trying hard to land a takedown here. Halo sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Country avoids a kick to the body.

A looping hook to the body misses from Country. Halo does a little dance to reset his feet.
Halo lands a leg kick that knocks Country off balance momentarily.

Country changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Halo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Halo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Country wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Halo wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Halo is trying to control Country's posture but Country avoids it.

Country thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Country wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Halo, who protects the arm well.
Halo is trying to get back to half guard.
Country slows the pace down.
Halo wants to control but Country postures up.
Halo is looking for a sweep.
Halo stops Country from passing to mount.

A lull in the action here as Country stalls from top position.

Let's hope that Country has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Country has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Halo has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
You can see the frustration on Halo's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Well, with Country on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Halo is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Halo buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Halo cracks Country with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Country ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Halo moves away.
Halo throws a sloppy head kick and Country moves out of range easily.

and Country makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Country lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Halo at a distance.

Halo sizes up Country with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
A slow jab from Halo misses its intended target.
Halo takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Country fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Halo avoids it really well and circles away.
Country looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Halo counters with a leg kick.

Country scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Halo doesn't seem bothered though.
Country fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Halo avoids it really well and circles away.
Rusty Halo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roy Country.
Halo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Country moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Country shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Halo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Country trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Halo has control of Country's left arm, preventing Country from doing any damage.

Halo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Country on the ground.

Country is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Country content to stall in guard here.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Country wants to control from the top but Halo keeps moving.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Country tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Halo swivels and escapes.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rusty Halo will probably get the nod.

Horrible takedown by Country or perhaps it was just good defense by Halo which made him look bad.

Country misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Halo drops his hands momentarily and Country takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

A looping hook to the body misses from Country. Halo does a little dance to reset his feet.
Country shoots in looking for a takedown but Halo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Country's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
No luck for Country with that takedown attempt.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Halo scores with a hook to the body. Country takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Halo throws a hook to the side of Country's head but Country sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Good leg kick by Halo there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Halo throws a nice looking combination but Country bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Rusty Halo showed his dominance in that final round.
