The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Niaz shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sexwale sprawls well. Sexwale wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Niaz gets slowly back to his feet.
Niaz on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Niaz jabs Sexwale right on the nose. Sexwale blinks but takes it well.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sexwale takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Sexwale leaves Niaz with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Sexwale takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Niaz looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Niaz ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sexwale moves away.

Niaz cracks Sexwale with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Niaz throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sexwale throws a sloppy head kick and Niaz moves out of range easily.

Niaz shoots in looking for a takedown but Sexwale manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Niaz's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Sexwale needs to keep his hands up - Niaz had a free shot at his head there.
Niaz lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Oh, that's a big right hand from Niaz and Sexwale goes tumbling to the canvas! Niaz follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
