Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson throws a head kick that misses

and John counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
John throws a big right hand that misses.
Jackson looking to hit a scissor sweep but John is one step ahead there.
Jackson throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Jackson lands a decent shot there.
Jackson thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

John stands up from Jackson's guard - John perhaps looking for a knockout.

Jackson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. John is trying to defend but Jackson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Jackson seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead John has recovered full guard.
Jackson wants to get up but he can't break John's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

John pushes Jackson off and scrambles back to his feet.
John avoids the head kick by Jackson.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Jackson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
John wants to get back to his feet but Jackson drags him back down.
Jackson wants to stand but John is controlling his arm.
An elbow from Jackson crashes against the mat.

Jackson throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and John works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
John avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jackson.
Jackson with the ground and pound but John uses the opportunity to regain guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jackson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Jackson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! John is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! John has escaped and now he's on top!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
John is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Jackson throws some shots to the body, keeping his opponent honest.
John trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom.
Jackson is looking to stand up but John isn't so interested in that idea.
John advances position into side control!
John trying to control the position but Jackson is working away.
Jackson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Jackson misses with an elbow from the bottom.
John in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Jackson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, John asserts his dominance and retains side control.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Jackson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
John is trying to stand back up but Jackson is controlling him
Jackson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Jackson wants to work for an arm triangle but John is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
John keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

John makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
John falls off balance throwing a combination

and Jackson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in John's guard now.
John is breathing heavily.

Jackson with a flurry of punches that miss.
Jackson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

John escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jackson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jackson postures up and lands a big shot to John's brow.

Jackson won't allow John to get back to his feet.

Jackson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but John manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jackson has John in his guard.
John lands a couple of elbows.
Jackson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jackson tries to get out of the position.
Jackson is looking to stand up but John isn't so interested in that idea.
Jackson will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
John content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
John missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Jackson scores with a couple of body punches from the bottom.
Jackson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
John connects with a couple of short punches.

John tries to clinch but Jackson moves away

and Jackson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in John's guard.
John is trying to keep Jackson in close.
John has his hands on Jackson's head, controlling the position.
Jackson tries to stand but John is controlling from the bottom.
John has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

John uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Jackson misses with a combination
and John counters with a solid body kick.
Jackson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by John.

Jackson gets a takedown into half guard.
Jackson looks to land a strike but John avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Jackson thows a big elbow that misses.

Jackson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of John is proving hard to escape from.

John is trying to keep Jackson in close.
Jackson postures up in John's guard and throws a big left but John blocks it.
Jackson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

John manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Jackson lands a glancing blow to the side of John's head.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

John is trying to stand back up but Jackson is controlling him
Jackson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Quinton Jackson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Jackson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

And that's the end of the fight!
Quinton Jackson showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Jackson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
