PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hatsu Ishikawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tirawit Kokin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Hatsu Ishikawa has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Hatsu Ishikawa seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hatsu Ishikawa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tirawit Kokin!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yuuki Gou and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kokin throws a leg kick but Ishikawa sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Kokin throws a jab when Ishikawa was well out of range.
Ishikawa swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Kokin tries a head kick but it misses.
Ishikawa is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Ishikawa wants to clinch up but Kokin keeps it at a distance.
Kokin wants to slow Ishikawa down by chopping away at his legs.

Ishikawa shoots in and drives through. Kokin sprawls well.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kokin can do anything to dispel that myth.

Kokin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ishikawa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kokin throws a low kick but Ishikawa moves out of range easily.

Ishikawa wants to take a breather but Kokin is having none of it.
Hatsu Ishikawa overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kokin won't allow Ishikawa to pass to mount.
Kokin is staying active underneath Ishikawa, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Kokin wants to get back to full guard but Ishikawa has mounted him!

Ishikawa wants to control the pace but Kokin is squirming around nicely.

Ishikawa goes for an armbar but Kokin turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Kokin.

Ishikawa is looking to stand up but Kokin isn't so interested in that idea.
Kokin is pushing down on Ishikawa's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ishikawa is fighting to maintain full guard but Kokin has managed to sneak the leg through.

Hatsu Ishikawa showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ishikawa, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
