Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Masdival (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Laurent Tesser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jorge Masdival has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masdival tries to bum rush Tesser with a series of wild strikes but Tesser uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Tesser takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Tesser looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Tesser misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Masdival works Tesser's body with a nice hook.
Masdival misses with an uppercut.
Tesser shoots in looking for a takedown. Masdival tries to sprawl out of it but Tesser keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Masdival manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jorge Masdival has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Laurent Tesser.
Tesser shoots and misses
and Masdival counters with a nice kick to the body.
Masdival stuffs the takedown attempt from Tesser. Tesser gets slowly back to his feet.
Tesser closes the distance and clinches up with Masdival, looking for a takedown. Tesser pushes Masdival against the cage but Masdival circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Masdival feints and then cracks Tesser's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Tesser down.
Nice takedown defense from Masdival. No joy for Tesser on that attempt.
Tesser tries for a takedown but Masdival sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Masdival throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Laurent Tesser seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tesser changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Masdival tries to avoid it but Tesser manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Masdival to the ground. Masdival escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Masdival with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Masdival throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Tesser's head.

and Masdival counters with a big head kick but Tesser shrugs it off.
Tesser shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Masdival as he avoids it easily.
Masdival moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Jorge Masdival is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Tesser fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Masdival misses with a head kick.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Tesser crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Masdival - the referee stops the clock and Tesser gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Masdival. Tesser manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Tesser shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Masdival sprawls well. Masdival wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Tesser gets slowly back to his feet.
Masdival loads up on a big right hand but Tesser slips the punch.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Masdival leaves Tesser with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Masdival throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Tesser.

Tesser is rocked!
Whack! Masdival lands a heavy head kick that drops Tesser. The ref tackles Masdival to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Tesser was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Jorge Masdival!
