PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Osmo Keinanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tappin Out (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Osmo Keinanen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tappin Out!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Sergei Dronov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Out tries to clinch but Keinanen moves out of range.
Keinanen lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.


It looks like Tappin Out has been cut.
Keinanen shoots in and drives through. Out sprawls well.
Keinanen stalks Out and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Out's face. Out staggers backwards, shaken.

Keinanen scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Out is refusing to be controlled, as Keinanen sits in half guard.
Out is trying to get back to full guard.
Out misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Keinanen is controlling the pace.
Keinanen drops an elbow to the side of Out's head.
Keinanen tries to pass to full mount but Out defends it.
Keinanen wants to control but Out is keeping him busy.
Out looks gassed!

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Keinanen gets in close and instigates a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Keinanen lands a takedown into guard.
Keinanen in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Out keeping moving, preventing Keinanen from controlling successfully.
Out throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Out had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Keinanen is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Out Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Keinanen's back instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
I really don't envy Keinanen right now.
Keinanen rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Keinanen wants to control but Out is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Keinanen moves into full guard.
Out stopping the sweep attempt from Keinanen.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Keinanen being controlled here, momentarily.
Out wants to pass the guard but Keinanen is keeping the position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Out sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Keinanen's guard.
Out passes the guard and advances to mount!
Out with good strikes from the mount here!
Keinanen keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Keinanen is trying to reverse the position but instead Out has taken his back - oops!

Out is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Keinanen knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Keinanen for a finish.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Out controlling well, preventing Keinanen from escaping the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Keinanen tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Keinanen keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Out throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Out punching from mount but Keinanen doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Keinanen tries to lock up and control but Out gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Keinanen is trying desperately to improve position.
Keinanen is working hard here to advance position.
Keinanen tries to improve his position but instead Out has taken his back!
Out tries to keep control of the position but Keinanen is staying busy.
Keinanen manages to reverse the position and now he's in Out's guard. Nice work there by Keinanen.
Out has his hands on Keinanen's head, controlling the position.

Keinanen has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Out to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Keinanen is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Out pulls down on the head and he's put Keinanen to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Tappin Out!
