PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Smelly Nickers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryoga Hibiki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Ryoga Hibiki was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Smelly Nickers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryoga Hibiki!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hibiki shoots in looking for a takedown but Nickers manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hibiki's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Nickers throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hibiki was covering up waiting for the punch and Nickers finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Nickers has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Hibiki has his foot on Nickers's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nickers works his way back into a safe position though.
Nickers throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Nickers cracks Hibiki with a solid left hand.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nickers accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Nickers prevents Hibiki from getting back to his feet.
Hibiki looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Nickers thows a big elbow that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nickers looking to pass the guard.
Hibiki wants to sweep but no luck.
Nickers connects with a couple of short punches.
Hibiki wants to get back to his feet but Nickers is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Nickers throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hibiki works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hibiki wants to stand and escape but Nickers is having none of it.

Nickers is sitting in close to Hibiki's body. Hibiki has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Nickers is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Nickers is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Hibiki.
