The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez works over Silva's head and body with a nice combination.

It looks like Diego Silva has been cut.
Silva shoots for a double leg takedown but Sanchez sprawls well. He's pushed Silva's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Sloppy strikes from Sanchez. Those never looked like landing.
Sanchez scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Silva doesn't seem bothered though.
Sanchez throws a half hearted mid kick.
Sanchez fails with the takedown.
Sanchez looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Silva counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Sanchez is lucky that one didn't land flush.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Silva doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sanchez as he jumps to the side.

Sanchez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sanchez lands in his opponent's guard.

Sanchez throws and elbow that misses. Silva uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Sanchez's guard. Nice move by Silva!
Sanchez wants to stand up but Silva is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva is pushing down on Sanchez's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sanchez is fighting to maintain full guard but Silva has managed to sneak the leg through.

Sanchez manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Silva moves in looking to clinch but Sanchez pushes him off.

Sanchez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sanchez stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Silva has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Sanchez manages to get his head free but now Silva has transitioned to an armbar! Sanchez grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Silva! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
