Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Al Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Sichev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Al Allen could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Yuri Sichev's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Al Allen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Yuri Sichev!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Chad Campbell and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allen throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sichev sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Sichev shoots in for a double leg but Allen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Allen lands a leg kick that knocks Sichev off balance momentarily.
Sichev lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Sichev.
Nice sprawl there from Allen as Sichev shoots in.
Al Allen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yuri Sichev.
Sichev on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Sichev throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Allen slaps away a takedown attempt from Sichev, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Sichev is trying hard to land a takedown here. Allen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Sichev tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Allen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Sichev has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Allen finds it's way round the side to connect with Sichev's head.
The fighters circle momentarily. Sichev darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Sichev tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Allen swivels and escapes.
Allen scores with a jab to the jaw.

Sichev scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Allen is looking to improve his position.
Sichev thows a huge punch but Allen dodges it nicely.

Sichev seems to be looking for submissions.

Sichev is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Allen has managed to free his arm - good work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sichev thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Allen to regain full guard.
Sichev in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Sichev is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Sichev throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Sichev postures up in Allen's guard and throws a big left but Allen blocks it.
Sichev throws a strike but Allen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Sichev tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Allen gets to his feet. Sichev looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Sichev shoots in but Allen avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Sichev misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sichev shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Allen as he jumps to the side.
Allen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sichev has his takedown stuffed
and Allen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sichev throws a right hand that misses
and Allen counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Yuri Sichev will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Sichev uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Allen.
Sichev has a takedown stuffed.
Nice defenses there by Sichev.
Sichev shoots in for a takedown but Allen shows good takedown defense.

Sichev drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Allen managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Sichev.

Sichev looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Allen is avoiding damage well.
Allen avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Sichev.
Sichev is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Allen is pushing Sichev's head away, looking to escape. Sichev manages to hold on to the position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sichev postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Sichev thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sichev looks up at the clock and then as Allen takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Sichev smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Sichev fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Sichev tries for a kimura but Allen is defending well.

Sichev looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The strikes coming from Sichev are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sichev lands a few punches from side control.
Sichev has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Sichev is trying to get an arm triangle but Allen is defending well.
Sichev looks up at the clock and then as Allen takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Sichev smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Sichev is looking to take a break and control but Allen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ground and pound from Sichev seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Allen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sichev on the ground.
Sichev laying and praying for a moment but Allen takes advantage and regains half guard.

Sichev is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
This has been an exciting period of action!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sichev is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Allen defends it well.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yuri Sichev showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Allen turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Sichev closes the distance and clinches up with Allen, looking for a takedown. Sichev pushes Allen against the cage but Allen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Al Allen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yuri Sichev.
Sichev is trying hard to land a takedown here. Allen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Sichev takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Sichev takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Allen, as that shot connected.
Al Allen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sichev on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Sichev tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Allen lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Sichev doesn't manage to clinch there - Allen circles away.
Sichev on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Allen. Allen obviously looking to wear him down.
Sichev tries to clinch up but Allen circles away and keeps his distance.
Allen connects with a good right hand that stumbles Sichev. Sichev circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Sichev darts in and clinches Allen up against the cage.
Sichev is trying to push Allen away but Allen has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Sichev tightens his grip and picks Allen up, before dumping him to the ground. Allen manages to land in guard.

Allen kicks Sichev off and gets to his feet.
Allen misses with a straight right.
Sichev throws a predictable looking body shot
and Allen counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Sichev on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Allen cracks a nice hook into Sichev's ribs.
Allen fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Allen leaves Sichev with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Allen connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Sichev's hands.
Al Allen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Donk. Allen catches Sichev right on the button with a cross.
Allen throws a hook but Sichev blocks it.
Allen throws a lazy right hand but Sichev sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Nice straight punches there by Allen. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Allen.


Sichev is rocked!
Allen throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sichev tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Allen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A slapping leg kick lands for Allen.

And that's the end of the fight!
Al Allen showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Sichev has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
