Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Man Bearpig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter McCool (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McCool comes into a darkened arena with his song building. I'm Shipping Up to Boston kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Man Bearpig!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peter McCool!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Steve Montenegro and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bearpig throws a big shot that misses.
McCool shoots in looking for a takedown but Bearpig manages to keep the fight standing, pushing McCool's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Bearpig looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Bearpig.
Bearpig checks a leg kick.
Bearpig lands with an uppercut that bounces McCool off the cage and back into rage.
McCool throws an off balance right hand

so Bearpig counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
McCool not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
McCool is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
McCool keeping moving, preventing Bearpig from controlling successfully.
Bearpig working some strikes from top position.
Bearpig content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Bearpig postures up.
Bearpig chips away with some ground and pound.
McCool has momentary wrist control but Bearpig slips an elbow through the middle.
McCool wants to hit a switch here but Bearpig passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for McCool there!
Bearpig lands a nice shot to the head.


McCool is rocked!
McCool is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
McCool is still in real trouble! Can Bearpig finish him?
McCool regains half guard.
McCool slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
McCool seems to have recovered his senses.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McCool is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Bearpig on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bearpig tries to get out of the position.
McCool is keen to just control but Bearpig is a slippery customer.

McCool looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Bearpig desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Bearpig tries to get to full guard but McCool has control of the leg.
Bearpig trying to control from the bottom.
Bearpig controlling the position well.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Man Bearpig just wasn't active enough.
McCool tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

McCool throws a big shot that misses.
Bearpig looks to score with a jab to the body but McCool is just out of range.
McCool misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Bearpig keeps the fight on the outside.
McCool looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bearpig is fending him off so far but McCool persists. Nope, Bearpig circles away and we're back to standing.
Man Bearpig has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter McCool.
McCool tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Bearpig is able to avoid easily.
McCool misses with a left hand

and Bearpig counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bearpig.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
McCool wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

McCool has an active guard here but Bearpig has managed to pass into half guard.
Bearpig is trying to control the action in half guard but McCool is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

McCool moves into full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bearpig stopping the sweep attempt from McCool.
Bearpig slips nicely into half guard.
Bearpig scoring with strikes to the body and head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
McCool manages to get to full guard.
Bearpig has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

McCool throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Bearpig escapes and throws McCool's legs to the side, diving into side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Man Bearpig dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


A looping hook to the body misses from Bearpig. McCool does a little dance to reset his feet.
McCool takes a shot to the body in his stride.
McCool is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
McCool throws a leg kick that misses.
Bearpig throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
McCool tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bearpig paws at him with a jab and circles away.
McCool fails with a takedown attempt.
Bearpig thows a body shot but no joy.

A slow jab from Bearpig misses its intended target.
McCool blocks a jab.

Bearpig looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Bearpig is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
McCool is pressing down on Bearpig's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
McCool controls Bearpig momentarily but Bearpig frees himself.

McCool looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

McCool working for a triangle but Bearpig defends it easily.
Man Bearpig overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Bearpig is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but McCool has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Bearpig is looking to defend but McCool has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Bearpig! McCool pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Bearpig taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Peter McCool!
