Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wiley Abu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kimo Kanoa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wiley Abu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kimo Kanoa!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kanoa getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Kanoa swings for the body but Abu moves out of range.
Kanoa connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Abu momentarily.
Kimo Kanoa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Abu shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kanoa sprawls well. Kanoa wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Abu gets slowly back to his feet.
Kanoa lands a nice hook to Abu's body. Abu takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Kanoa just misses with a punch to the body.
Kanoa stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Kanoa throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Abu stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Abu shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kanoa pinned against the cage. Kanoa gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Kanoa comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Nice uppercut there from Kanoa.
Kanoa scores with the left hand. Abu knows he should have avoided that one.
Kanoa throws a right hand that Abu ducks under and follows up with a left that Abu also avoids with ease.

Abu doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Kanoa counters with a straight right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wiley Abu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Abu displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kanoa throws out the jab.
Kanoa connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Kanoa leaves Abu with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kanoa lands with an uppercut that bounces Abu off the cage and back into rage.
Abu shoots in and drives through. Kanoa sprawls well.

Abu shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kanoa but Kanoa pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Kanoa uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Abu has time to react.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Abu. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Abu walks into a stiff left hand from Kanoa.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kanoa wants to stand and escape but Abu is having none of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Abu thows a big elbow that misses.
Kanoa controls Abu momentarily but Abu frees himself.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Kimo Kanoa.
Abu closes the distance and clinches up with Kanoa, looking for a takedown. Abu pushes Kanoa against the cage but Kanoa circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kimo Kanoa dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Kanoa tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Abu was well out of range. Poor timing from Kanoa.
Abu shoots in looking for a takedown but Kanoa manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Abu's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Abu walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Abu gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

and Kanoa counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Kanoa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Abu manages to avoid it.

Abu shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kanoa pinned against the cage. Kanoa gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Kanoa throws an overhand right that lands on Abu's shoulder, as Abu tries to avoid the shot.
Abu stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kanoa.
Kanoa connects with a nice looking jab.

Abu dives in and grabs Kanoa's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kanoa pushes down on Abu's head and hops out.
Kanoa swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Abu.
Abu uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kanoa.
Kimo Kanoa seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Kanoa throws a hook but Abu blocks it.
Kimo Kanoa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Abu gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Kanoa.

and Kanoa counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Abu thinking.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kanoa cracks Abu with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Kimo Kanoa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

BOOM! Kanoa lands a beautiful left hook that drops Abu. Abu tries to recover but Kanoa is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Abu lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
