Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marco Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Corey Hawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reyes comes to the ring accompanied by How You Like Me Now? by The Heavy. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marco Reyes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Corey Hawkins!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Roberts and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawkins tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Reyes swivels and escapes.

Reyes dives in and scores a takedown into Hawkins's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Hawkins pulls Reyes in to control the position.
Reyes connects with a couple of short punches.
Hawkins preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Reyes throws and elbow that misses. Hawkins uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Reyes's guard. Nice move by Hawkins!
Reyes trying to control the position.
Reyes is pulling down on Hawkins's head. It's preventing any offense from Hawkins, at least for the moment.
Reyes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hawkins is one step ahead there.
Hawkins throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Reyes works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Reyes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hawkins on the ground.
Hawkins won't allow Reyes to get back to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hawkins stands up over Reyes, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Reyes keeping moving, preventing Hawkins from controlling successfully.
Hawkins throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Reyes works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hawkins passes Reyes's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Hawkins not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Reyes is looking to control Hawkins's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Reyes avoid being mounted?
Hawkins wants to lay and pray for a moment but Reyes keeps working.

Hawkins is working for a submission of some sort.
Reyes tries to get to full guard but Hawkins has control of the leg.
Hawkins wants to pass the guard but Reyes is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hawkins thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Reyes wants to sweep but Hawkins has passed to side control!
Reyes is looking for a sweep.

Hawkins tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hawkins has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hawkins thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Hawkins is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Reyes is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Reyes is looking to reverse the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Reyes gets back to half guard.

Hawkins has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Reyes defend it? Hawkins steps over the head and cranks it - Reyes is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Hawkins!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Corey Hawkins!
