The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hart avoids the body shot from DeSimone.
Hart fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Hart fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. DeSimone sprawls well initially but Hart persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Hart postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. DeSimone looks a forlorn figure.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now DeSimone is on top in guard.

Hart is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
DeSimone is fighting to break Hart's control of his arms but Hart is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Hart working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. DeSimone doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. DeSimone manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and DeSimone counters with a three punch combo that has Hart backing up. Hart nods at DeSimone to acknowledge the strikes.

DeSimone throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

DeSimone is working Hart over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Hart feints and as DeSimone raises his hands in defense, Hart changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
DeSimone doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Hart wants to control from the top but DeSimone keeps moving.

DeSimone is looking to sinch up a triangle. Hart throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to DeSimone's body to avoid the submission. DeSimone has instead reached around Hart's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! DeSimone arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
