The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gonzalez closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wise to the mat! Wise manages to get full guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Wise throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Gonzalez on the side of the head.

Wise is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Wise wants to get back to striking at distance but Gonzalez won't allow it.

Gonzalez is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Wise pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Wise scores with the left hand. Gonzalez knows he should have avoided that one.

Oooooh!!! Wise has knocked Gonzalez down with a huge combo! Wise steps away and waves a wobbly Gonzalez back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Pete Gonzalez has been cut.

Gonzalez drops his hands momentarily. Wise doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Gonzalez staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Gonzalez doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
