Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Domingo Chavez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nek Olob!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Olob throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A slapping leg kick lands for Olob.
Chavez throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Olob sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Olob throws a hook to the side of Chavez's head but Chavez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Chavez dodges the punch combination from Olob.
Olob misses with a jab, cross combination.
Olob lands with a thumping leg kick.
Chavez misses with an uppercut.

Olob lands a big head kick that sends Chavez tumbling to the mat! Olob takes a step backwards and waves Chavez back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Chavez is rocked!


It looks like Domingo Chavez has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Chavez blocks a head kick by Olob.
Oh Chavez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Olob throws a head kick that misses.
Chavez seems to have got his legs back now.
Chavez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Olob avoids it really well and circles away.

Olob throws a nice looking combination but Chavez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nek Olob seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Chavez fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Olob sprawls well initially but Chavez persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Chavez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Olob keeps working.
Chavez is nestled in close to Olob, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Olob looks gassed!
Chavez lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Olob wants to get back to his feet.
Chavez is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Chavez connects with a nice short shot to Olob's temple.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Chavez lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Olob is in trouble now - Chavez has advanced to mount!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Nek Olob dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Domingo Chavez's cut.
That's time! Chavez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Chavez throws a body punch but Olob moves out of range.

Chavez gets a double leg takedown into Olob's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Chavez is standing up over Olob. Olob looks to escape but Chavez dives into side control.
Chavez in side control lands a decent elbow.
Chavez lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Olob down.
Olob is breathing heavily.
Chavez content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Chavez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Olob keeps working.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Chavez works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Olob seems a little lost for a moment, as Chavez dominates the positioning.
Olob really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chavez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Chavez lands some shots froms side control.
Chavez moves into full mount!

Chavez is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Olob to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Olob shrugs it off.

Chavez lands a big elbow.
Chavez has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Olob's face.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Olob can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Chavez misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nek Olob is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Some wild striking there from Olob.
Olob closes the distance but Chavez moves to the side

and Chavez counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Chavez pushes down on Olob's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Chavez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Olob is in trouble now - Chavez has advanced to mount!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Chavez cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Olob takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Olob is in a horrible position here. Chavez smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Domingo Chavez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Chavez breaks from Olob's wrist control and lands an elbow.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chavez tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
