PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between William Ma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthur Ruchkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ma comes into the arena with All Shall Perish- Wage Slave blaring out of the sound system. Ruchkin is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Rick Astley-Together Forever. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruchkin pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ruchkin misses with a head kick.
Ruchkin wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Ruchkin throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ruchkin throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Ma is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ma clinches.
Ma lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Ma breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ruchkin throws a head kick but Ma moves out of range.

Ma with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Ruchkin to score with a decent uppercut.
Ruchkin throws a series of punches but Ma moves out of range.

Ma shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ruchkin manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Ma loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The ref stands the fighters back up because William Ma just wasn't active enough.
Ruchkin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

and Ma counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ma.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ma postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Ruchkin is working an open guard so Ma takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Ruchkin scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Ma doesn't seem bothered though.

and Ma counters with a takedown into side control.

Ma decides to stand back up.
Ruchkin misses with a jab, cross combination.

Ma shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ruchkin's guard.
Ma with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ma gets to his feet. Ruchkin looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Ma shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Ma with shots to the head and body - Ruchkin looks very uncomfortable down there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Ma working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Ruchkin looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Ma! Submission of the night perhaps?
