Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Michael Proctor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Rizal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Proctor comes to the cage accompanied by DreamWorld by Ralek Gracie. Michael Proctor has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Proctor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jose Rizal!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Proctor shoots in for a double leg but Rizal sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Rizal shoots in but no luck this time.
Proctor throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Proctor shoots in for a takedown but Rizal shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Proctor cracks Rizal with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Proctor throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rizal.
Proctor shoots in for a double leg but Rizal sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Proctor. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice takedown defense from Rizal. No joy for Proctor on that attempt.
Proctor keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Proctor drives through with a takedown into Rizal's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Proctor got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rizal has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Proctor has managed to get both his arms back between Rizal's legs - danger averted.
Proctor tries to free his leg and advance position but Rizal is retaining full guard.

Rizal isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Proctor stacks Rizal on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Proctor!
Rizal tries to improve position but can't.

Proctor tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rizal knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Proctor throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Proctor is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Rizal!

Proctor lands a big shot there that rocks Rizal but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Rizal is wriggling around trying to escape.

Proctor sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Proctor wants to control but Rizal has made it back to half guard. Nice work.
Proctor misses with a head shot. Rizal uses the momentum to regain guard.
Proctor engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Proctor drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rizal manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Proctor has Rizal in his guard.

Proctor tries to land a sweep but no joy.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Proctor has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Rizal is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Proctor.
Rizal wants to control but Proctor is keeping him busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Proctor shoots for a takedown but Rizal saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Proctor misses with a takedown attempt - Rizal sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Proctor is defended easily by Rizal.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Proctor. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Horrible takedown by Proctor or perhaps it was just good defense by Rizal which made him look bad.
Rizal swings for the body but Proctor moves out of range.
Proctor fails to land the takedown.

Proctor feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Rizal manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Rizal gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
No joy there for Rizal, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The fight stays on the outside here - Proctor looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Proctor scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Proctor fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Rizal tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Proctor just stands there and leans against the cage.

Proctor tries to stall but Rizal uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Rizal manages to pull guard.

Rizal working for a triangle but Proctor defends it easily.
Proctor throwing strikes but missing.
Proctor trying to control but Rizal is working from the bottom.
Proctor advances to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Proctor is keen to just control but Rizal is a slippery customer.

Proctor wants to pass to mount but Rizal is defending the position.
Rizal trying to hold on to Proctor's head to control him but Proctor postures up.
Proctor is looking to stall here but Rizal recovers full guard.
Michael Proctor overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Proctor throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Rizal is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Proctor has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Proctor passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Proctor throws a strike aimed at the side of Rizal's head but Rizal avoids it well.

Proctor tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
You can see the frustration on Rizal's face as Proctor controls the position.

Proctor goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Rizal has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Proctor but great work by Rizal.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Rizal throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Proctor's waist but Proctor gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rizal off to one side.

Rizal is looking to clinch but Proctor is avoiding it.

Rizal decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Proctor is trying to control but can't.

Rizal has gone for a leg lock! Proctor slips out almost immediately though and dives into Rizal's guard.

Michael Proctor is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Proctor slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jose Rizal hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Proctor looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Rizal dives in and grabs Proctor's left leg, looking for a takedown. Proctor pushes down on Rizal's head and hops out.

Well Proctor has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
