The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Riley.
Riley fails with an attempt to clinch.
Riley tries to close the distance and clinch but Materazzi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nice takedown defense from Materazzi. No joy for Riley on that attempt.
Riley looks for a takedown but Materazzi sprawls well.
Marco Materazzi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Riley.
Materazzi throws a series of strikes that have Riley backpedaling.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Riley.
Materazzi throws a right hand that Riley ducks under and follows up with a left that Riley also avoids with ease.

Riley moves to clinch but Materazzi breaks away
letting Materazzi counter with a right hand.
A combination from Materazzi does no damage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Materazzi cracks Riley with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Riley shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Materazzi defends it nicely.

Riley fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Materazzi to the ground. Riley is now in Materazzi's guard.

Materazzi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Riley's guard.
Riley is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Materazzi is aware though and is defending well.
Materazzi decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Riley, up you get!

Riley tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Materazzi throws a body punch but Riley moves out of range.
Riley is looking to land body kicks.
Riley throws a front kick aimed at Materazzi's knee but Materazzi avoids it well.
Riley shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Materazzi as he jumps to the side.
Riley takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Riley dives in and grabs Materazzi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Materazzi pushes down on Riley's head and hops out.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Riley looks gassed!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Materazzi lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Materazzi takes a swing at Riley's ribcage but misses.
A left and a right from Materazzi both land. Nice combination.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Materazzi thuds his right hand into Riley's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Riley takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Materazzi cracks Riley with a hook to the temple - Riley is on wobbly legs here! Materazzi swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Riley falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Materazzi wins by TKO!
