Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thor Skank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thor Skank!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Skank but Skank pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Thompson lands a nice looking body shot.
Thompson misses with an uppercut. Skank saw that one coming.
Thompson misses with a hook to the body
and Skank counters with a good low kick that Thompson was not able to check.
Thompson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Thompson sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Skank holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Thompson tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Thompson jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Skank manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Thompson cracks Skank with a big right hand but Skank just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Thompson tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Thompson fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Thompson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Skank really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Thompson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The ground and pound from Thompson seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Skank throws out a leg kick but Thompson moves out of range and Skank only half commits.

Thompson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Skank was well out of range. Poor timing from Thompson.

and Skank counters with a nice leg kick.
Skank takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Skank uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Thompson.
A looping hook to the body misses from Thompson. Skank does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Skank counters with a low kick, right behind Thompson 's knee.
Thompson closes the distance and clinches up with Skank, looking for a takedown. Thompson pushes Skank against the cage but Skank circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Thor Skank is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Thompson throws a lazy uppercut
and Skank counters with a body kick that stops Thompson in his tracks momentarily.
Thompson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Skank pinned against the cage. Skank gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Thompson misses with a straight right.
A lazy left from Thompson finds it's target.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Skank ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Thompson throws the left hand but Skank avoids the punch easily.
Thompson looks to score with a jab to the body but Skank is just out of range.
Thompson throws a lazy uppercut
and Skank counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Thompson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Skank looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Skank throws a body kick that misses.
Skank attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Thompson shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Thompson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A jab from Thompson misses.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Thompson.
Thompson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Skank as he jumps to the side.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Thompson dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Skank is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Thompson lands a head shot.
John Thompson is winning the standup battle so far.
Thompson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Skank's waist but Skank gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Thompson off to one side.
No luck for Thompson with that takedown attempt.
John Thompson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Skank buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Thompson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Skank moves away.
Skank misses with a hook. Thompson ducked under it nicely.
Skank takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Skank turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

and Skank counters with a nice leg kick.
Thompson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Thompson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Skank does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
