Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Dredd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Connor James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Connor James is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Dredd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Connor James!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James closes the distance and clinches up with Dredd, looking for a takedown. James pushes Dredd against the ropes but Dredd circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Dredd misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Dredd takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
James throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dredd misses with a body kick.
Dredd shoots in but no luck this time.

Dredd bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
James struggling a bit here.
James is looking for a sweep.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Dredd tries to move into full mount but can't pass James's legs.
James tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Dredd wants to control but James is keeping him busy.

Dredd lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Dredd wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by James, who protects the arm well.
Dredd remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
James can't do much from the bottom here.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dredd wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by James, who protects the arm well.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Dredd tries to score with some ground and pound. James controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Dredd is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. James knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
James is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

James is trying to escape the position but Dredd is controlling the position.

James should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

James is looking to slow Dredd down with leg kicks.

Dredd stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. James swivels though and keeps the full guard.
James has a closed guard, preventing Dredd from standing up.
Dredd throws and elbow that misses. James uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dredd's guard. Nice move by James!
Dredd on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dredd tries to get out of the position.
James wants to control from the top but Dredd keeps moving.

Dredd bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in James's guard.

James uses the ropes to get back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Dredd wants to stand and escape but instead James has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
James loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Dredd is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

James is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Connor James has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Dredd looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? James is fending him off so far but Dredd persists. Nope, James circles away and we're back to standing.

Dredd tries to close the distance and clinch but James swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
James lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Tony Dredd is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Dredd changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. James looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's time! Dredd's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Dredd fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Dredd closes the distance and clinches up with James, looking for a takedown. Dredd pushes James against the ropes but James circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
James shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dredd as he jumps to the side.

James looks to land a combination. Dredd sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
James moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Dredd shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says James as he avoids it easily.
Dredd shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. James defends it nicely.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Dredd throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around James's waist but James gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dredd off to one side.

James thuds his right hand into Dredd's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
James circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dredd throws a sloppy head kick and James moves out of range easily.
James throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Dredd's head.

A right-left combo lands from James.
James looks to land a combination but Dredd avoids it well.
Dredd will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Dredd goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Dredd is working on a single leg takedown against the ropes. James can't fight it off and eventually Dredd manages to take the fight to the floor. James looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Dredd working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. James doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. James manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
James wants to control from the top but Dredd keeps moving.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

James stands up from Dredd's guard - James perhaps looking for a knockout.

Tony Dredd is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
James throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Dredd's head.
