Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dane Short (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dante Sparda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dane Short!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dante Sparda!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Sparda. Those never looked like landing.
Short tries to bum rush Sparda with a series of wild strikes but Sparda uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Short avoids the head kick by Sparda.
Sparda closes the distance and clinches up with Short, looking for a takedown. Sparda pushes Short against the cage but Short circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sparda. Short does a little dance to reset his feet.
Short is looking to slow Sparda down with leg kicks.
Sparda throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Short counters with a good, hard body kick but Sparda shrugs it off.
A combination from Sparda does no damage.
Sparda fails to land with a series of punches.

Short looks to land a combination but Sparda avoids it well.

and Sparda counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Short's guard now.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Short is trying to control the position but Sparda postures up.
Sparda won't allow Short to get back to his feet.

Short uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Sparda throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Sparda throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sparda misses with an uppercut.
Short tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sparda was well out of range. Poor timing from Short.
Short shoots for a double leg takedown but Sparda sprawls well. He's pushed Short's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Short fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sparda lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Sparda throws a lazy head kick
and Short counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Sparda looks gassed!

Sparda shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Short is trying to defend but Sparda finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Short moves into full guard.
Short is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sparda is controlling him.
Short trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Short trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Short is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Short striking off his back but it's not causing Sparda any problems.

Short manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Short scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Sparda?
Short trying to control but Sparda is having none of it.
