PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Parak Parcon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Parak Parcon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sean Parker!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Parker rushes Parcon and presses him up against the cage.

Parker successfully pulls guard.

Parcon drops back looking for a leg! Parker is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Parker manages to kick Parcon off! Parcon jumps back into Parker's guard.

Parcon thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Parcon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Parcon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Parcon is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Parcon thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Parker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Parcon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Parker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Parker can do anything to dispel that myth.

Parker manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Parcon shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Parker pinned against the cage. Parker gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Parker cracks Parcon with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Parker misses with the combination.
Parcon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Parker as he avoids it easily.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Parak Parcon. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Parker is looking to stand up but Parcon won't let him.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Parker postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Parker distracts Parcon with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Parcon is breathing heavily.

Parker decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Parcon, up you get!

Parker closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Parcon did well to prevent Parker getting side control.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Parcon is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Parker pulls his head out easily.

Parker slips a nice elbow through Parcon's hands, connecting with Parcon's forehead.
Parker seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Parcon does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Parker looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Parcon with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Parker is keen to just control but Parcon is a slippery customer.

Parker decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Parker manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Parcon on his heels. He'll look to pass Parcon's guard now, I'm sure.

Parker stands up from Parcon's guard - Parker perhaps looking for a knockout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Parker darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Parker lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Parcon is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Parker pulls his head out easily.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Parker connects with a nice short shot to Parcon's temple.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
