Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grubas shoots in looking for a takedown. Laid tries to sprawl out of it but Grubas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Laid manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Laid shoots in but Grubas avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Laid defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Grubas.
Laid closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Grubas closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Laid did well to prevent Grubas getting side control.
Laid might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Grubas is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Laid as he works his way to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Wielki Grubas was stalling too much, according to the referee.

and Laid decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Grubas's guard.
Mike Laid has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wielki Grubas.
Laid throws a strike but Grubas rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Laid wants to stand up but Grubas is controlling him.

It looks like Grubas might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Grubas drops back, looking for a kneebar! Laid looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Laid looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Laid!

Grubas is looking to reverse the position.
Laid cracks Grubas with a big right hand but Grubas just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Grubas has hold of Laid's hands but Laid slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Laid is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Grubas is rocked!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Laid takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Laid connects with a nice short shot to Grubas's temple.
Laid frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Laid is looking for a takedown. Wow, that's a brutal slam - Grubas is in big trouble! Laid is landing strikes from the mount and this one is all over! The ref jumps in to save a confused looking Grubas. Poor guy.
