Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brandon Short!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Emerson Jorge and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice leg kick lands there from Short.
Short throws a nice inside leg kick.

TupperII feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Short preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Short is trying to control the position but TupperII postures up.
TupperII with a flurry of punches that miss.
TupperII is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Short is on top in guard.
TupperII might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Short is fighting to break TupperII's control of his arms but TupperII is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Short loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

TupperII doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

TupperII looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Short prevents TupperII from getting back to his feet.
Short trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Short content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Short trying to control the position from guard on top but TupperII is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Brandon Short was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Short fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. TupperII sprawls well initially but Short persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Short wants to control but TupperII is keeping him busy.
TupperII trying to control from the bottom.
Short prevents TupperII from improving his position.
Short tries to pass the half guard into mount. TupperII knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

TupperII is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Short pulls his head out easily.

TupperII avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Short.
Short wants to lay and pray for a moment but TupperII keeps working.
TupperII is looking to escape.
TupperII is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
TupperII tries to kick Short off but Short keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Short missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Brandon Short will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Short changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by TupperII.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from TupperII.

It looks like Bobby TupperII has been cut.
TupperII throws a low kick but Short avoids it.
TupperII throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
TupperII throws a head kick that misses
and Short counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
TupperII checks the leg kick nicely there.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

TupperII throws a knee to the head but misses.
Short lands a right hand that snaps the head of TupperII backwards.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Short.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Short just misses with a elbow thrown towards TupperII's brow.
TupperII tries a knee to the head but Short blocks it.
Short lands a nice elbow.
Short misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from TupperII.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
TupperII tries to score a body lock takedown but Short shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
The referee is keeping an eye on Short - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Short gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.


Bobby TupperII's cut is getting worse.
Short is trying to stall.
TupperII tries to land a knee to the head but Short blocks with his arms.
Short is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. TupperII is defending well for now.
TupperII connects with a nasty looking knee right to Short's face.

Bobby TupperII's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Short landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Short lands an elbow that stopped TupperII in his tracks for a moment.
TupperII takes an elbow to the temple.
TupperII creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Short takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Short creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through TupperII's defenses.


Jeez, Bobby TupperII's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

Short manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
TupperII managing to block the knees to the body from Short.

Short throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
