The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanaka is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Brewster wants to clinch.
Tanaka tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Brewster is able to avoid easily.
Brewster misses with a wild body shot.
Tanaka avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Tanaka motions for Brewster to come forward. Tanaka throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Brewster tries to keep at a distance but Tanaka has taken the fight into the clinch.
Brewster looking to stall.
Tanaka lands an elbow inside.

It looks like Chad Brewster has been cut.

Tanaka lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Brewster tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Tanaka just stands there and leans against the cage.
Brewster takes a knee right on the jaw!

Chad Brewster's cut is getting worse.
Tanaka lands an elbow inside.
Brewster tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Tanaka smiles and moves away.
Tanaka cracks the inside of Brewster's front leg.
Brewster shoots for a takedown but Tanaka saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chad Brewster. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Tanaka creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Brewster's defenses.

Jeez, Chad Brewster's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
