Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Craig Noons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Pompies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Noons comes to the cage accompanied by right above it. Peter Pompies will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pompies lands a lovely overhand right.
Noons slips a straight right by Pompies.
Pompies tries to clinch but Noons moves out of range.
Pompies scores with a hook to the body. Noons takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Noons shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pompies's guard.

Noons drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Pompies manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Noons has Pompies in his guard.

Pompies is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Noons is working an open guard so Pompies takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Pompies tries to clinch but Noons is having none of it.
Noons swats away the attempt to clinch by Pompies.

Noons uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pompies.
Pompies ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Noons is breathing heavily.
Pompies lands with a right hand.
Pompies looks to score with a jab to the body but Noons is just out of range.
Pompies fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Noons is out of range.
Noons throws a series of punches but Pompies moves out of range.
Craig Noons seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pompies will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Pompies misses with a takedown attempt - Noons sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fight stays on the outside here - Pompies looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
