PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Korter Poundre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eisenstein Priestley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Poundre might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Bones Blows. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Korter Poundre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eisenstein Priestley!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Priestley lands with a hook. Poundre tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Priestley fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Poundre bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Poundre swings around for an armbar but Priestley sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Poundre's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Poundre manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Priestley blocking the ground and pound.
Poundre thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Priestley is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Priestley wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Poundre.

Poundre swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Priestley is now in Poundre's guard. A big mistake from Poundre there, giving up the dominant position!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Poundre isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Priestley stacks Poundre on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Priestley!

Poundre sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Poundre wants to sweep but Priestley has passed to side control!

Priestley stands up from mount. Strange move.
Priestley lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Poundre at a distance.
Poundre closes the distance and clinches up with Priestley, looking for a takedown. Poundre pushes Priestley against the cage but Priestley circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Poundre shoots for a double leg takedown but Priestley sprawls well. He's pushed Poundre's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Priestley tests Poundre's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Priestley keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

and Poundre takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Priestley will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Poundre shoots in for a takedown but Priestley shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Poundre has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Priestley.
Poundre chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Priestley can pounce on him.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Priestley cracks Poundre with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Eisenstein Priestley is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Priestley fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Priestley moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Priestley takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Poundre sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Priestley lands with an overhand left.
Priestley clobbers Poundre with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Poundre shoots in for a takedown but Priestley shows good takedown defense.

Korter Poundre is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Poundre closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Priestley did well to prevent Poundre getting side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Eisenstein Priestley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Poundre throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Priestley's waist but Priestley gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Poundre off to one side.

Poundre working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Priestley doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Poundre is tightening it up a little... Priestley has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Priestley reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Priestley taps out! nice BJJ there by Poundre!
