Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luke Holder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Falaris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Falaris's choice of entrance music: Single Ladies - Brazilian Version. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luke Holder!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Falaris!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, David Schapiro and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice jab there from Falaris.
Holder tries a head kick but it misses.
Holder gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Falaris counters with a one-two to the body.
Holder is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Holder lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Falaris swats away the attempt to clinch by Holder.
A chopping leg kick lands by Holder.
Holder misses with an attempted mid kick.
Holder thuds his shin into the meat of Falaris's side.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Holder throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Falaris throws a right hand that Holder ducks under and follows up with a left that Holder also avoids with ease.

Holder throws a low kick but Falaris moves out of range easily.
Luke Holder seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Holder clinches up with Falaris and pushes him back against the cage.
Holder has Falaris pressed against the cage, preventing Falaris from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Falaris is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

and Holder takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Holder creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Falaris tries to circle away but Holder has him pinned against the cage.
Holder is pushing Falaris up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Luke Holder will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Holder just misses with a elbow thrown towards Falaris's brow.

Holder has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Holder keeps control of Falaris as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Holder on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.
