Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Derek Blackley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blackley's entrance music is Shock To The System by Billy Idol. A fine choice. Rogers has chosen "Firefly" by Breaking Benjamin as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Ricky Rogers enters the ring!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ricky Rogers!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Glass and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blackley misses with a head kick.

Blackley drives through with a takedown into guard.
Blackley throwing strikes from guard but Rogers blocks nicely.
Rogers is trying to keep Blackley in close.
Blackley won't allow Rogers to sweep him here.
Rogers not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Rogers is looking to control Blackley's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rogers avoid being mounted?
Rogers wants to stand back up but Blackley manages to pass into side control.

Rogers is positioning himself well to prevent Blackley advancing to mount.

Rogers wants to get back to his feet but Blackley is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Rogers bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Blackley's guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Derek Blackley will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Rogers scores with a takedown into Blackley's guard.
Rogers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Blackley swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rogers looking to sit in guard and control but Blackley gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Blackley keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Rogers's head.
Blackley wants to control from the top but Rogers keeps moving.
Blackley tries to free his leg and advance position but Rogers is retaining full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rogers wants to control but Blackley is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Blackley takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Blackley cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Rogers tries to hold on but Blackley pushes him away.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Blackley tries to keep at a distance but Rogers has taken the fight into the clinch.
Rogers tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Blackley smiles and moves away.

Rogers is trying to stand.
Rogers is looking for a sweep. Blackley is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Blackley takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Blackley wants to stand up but Rogers is controlling the position.
Rogers moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Blackley is stalling in the full guard.
Rogers trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Rogers is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Rogers working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Blackley doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Blackley manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Blackley throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Rogers is trying to control Blackley's posture but Blackley avoids it.

Blackley is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Rogers is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Blackley tries to move to mount but Rogers blocks the move with his legs.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Rogers jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Blackley is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Blackley and Rogers has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Blackley, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
