Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bjorn Fishborn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Zadornov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fishborn clinches up against the cage.

Zadornov is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Fishborn pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Zadornov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fishborn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Zadornov is looking to stand up but Fishborn isn't so interested in that idea.

Fishborn shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Fishborn is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Fishborn frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Fishborn takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fishborn has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Fishborn lands a big shot there that rocks Zadornov but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

and Zadornov counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Fishborn throws a body punch but Zadornov moves out of range.

Fishborn ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Fishborn no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Fishborn is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Zadornov defends well.

Zadornov would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Fishborn controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fishborn shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Fishborn was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Fishborn postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Zadornov looks a forlorn figure.

Fishborn is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Zadornov to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Zadornov shrugs it off.

Fishborn closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Zadornov quickly recovers to half guard.

Fishborn is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Zadornov can do to turn this around?

Zadornov takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Zadornov enables Fishborn to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Zadornov manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Fishborn is looking for a kimura but Zadornov is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Fishborn to get the leverage.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Fishborn in particular looking to stall.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Bjorn Fishborn.

Fishborn successfully pulls guard.
Fishborn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Fishborn seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Fishborn's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
