Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dextor Lavy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Alscott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alscott has chosen Big Wigly Style - The Devil Wears Prada as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dextor Lavy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shawn Alscott!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Skip Squint and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lavy darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Alscott gets back to full guard.
Lavy looking to pass the guard.
Lavy is in close to Alscott's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Alscott had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Lavy is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Alscott Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Lavy's back instead.
Lavy turns into Alscott and is now in his guard.
Lavy slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Alscott is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Lavy slips nicely into half guard.
Lavy is looking to advance position but Alscott won't allow it.
Alscott is trying to control but can't.
Lavy looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lavy scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Alscott tries to roll over but Lavy keeps him under control.
Alscott trying to control from the bottom.
Lavy wants to take a breather but Alscott is having none of it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
A punch combination from Lavy misses.
Alscott shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lavy as he jumps to the side.
Lavy misses with a jab, cross combination.
Lavy throws a good cross that connects.
Lavy throws a right hand that Alscott ducks under and follows up with a left that Alscott also avoids with ease.
A combination from Lavy does no damage.
Lavy throws a push kick but Alscott slaps the foot to one side.
Some wild striking there from Lavy.
Lavy is breathing heavily.
Alscott throws a leg kick which misses Lavy's front leg but catches the back leg as Lavy tries to avoid it.

Lavy shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Alscott's guard.
Lavy wants to pass the guard but Alscott is keeping the position.
Lavy has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Alscott manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Alscott is landing with some decent strikes but Lavy is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Lavy really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lavy sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Lavy is trying to maintain the position but Alscott is very close to passing his half guard.
Lavy keeping hold of Alscott's head, controlling as best he can.
Lavy moves into full guard.
Lavy is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Lavy scores with a short punch from the bottom.

Alscott throwing strikes but missing.
Lavy is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Lavy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Alscott doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Alscott manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Alscott is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lavy is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lavy has escaped and now he's on top!

Alscott looking for a guillotine here but Lavy defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alscott being controlled here, momentarily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Alscott looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lavy is one step ahead there.
Lavy works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Lavy passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Alscott!
Lavy lands a nice shot to the head.
Lavy working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Alscott prevents Lavy from taking his back.
Alscott is trying to escape the mount.
Lavy wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.

Lavy working for a guillotine from mount but Alscott is in no mood to give up.
Alscott bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dextor Lavy dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Lavy misses with a double jab.
Lavy misses with a jab, cross combination.
Lavy throws a left that rocks Alscott and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Lavy dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Alscott regain composure!


Alscott is rocked!
Lavy advances to full mount.
Alscott is still in real trouble! Can Lavy finish him?
Lavy landing punches.
Lavy content just to control the position here.

Lavy working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Lavy is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Alscott has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Alscott seems to have recovered his senses.
Lavy looking to control but Alscott is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Lavy controlling the pace for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Lavy is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Alscott can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Alscott has given up his back here.
Lavy scores with punches to the body.
Alscott breaks Lavy's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Lavy looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Alscott has picked Lavy up and slammed him! Lavy can't keep hold of the triangle and Alscott manages to pass to side control!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
You can see the frustration on Lavy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Lavy tries to bench press Alscott off him but Alscott keeps the position.
Lavy takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Lavy tries to improve position but can't.
Lavy gets back to half guard.
Alscott seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Lavy looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Alscott seems to be working for a kimura but Lavy defends the submission attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lavy is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Alscott's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Alscott's back!

Lavy looking to break Alscott's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Alscott remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Lavy will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Lavy working for a choke but Alscott is defending well.

Lavy is looking for the choke from the back position but Alscott is controlling his hands well.
Alscott trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Lavy is working for a rear naked choke. Alscott is not defending it well and Lavy has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Alscott refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Alscott's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Dextor Lavy!
