The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Putin scores with a one two! Big Thing had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Big Thing is defended easily by Putin.

Putin drives through with a takedown into Big Thing's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Big Thing wants to stand but Putin is controlling the position.
Putin is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Big Thing on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Big Thing tries to get out of the position.
It looks like Putin might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up because The Next Big Thing just wasn't active enough.
Horrible takedown by Big Thing or perhaps it was just good defense by Putin which made him look bad.
Big Thing doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Putin counters with a head kick. That will keep Big Thing thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for The Next Big Thing. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Big Thing is breathing heavily.
Putin works over Big Thing's head and body with a nice combination.

It looks like The Next Big Thing has been cut.

and Putin counters with a big uppercut that knocks Big Thing off his feet! Putin dives into side control looking to finish!

Putin happy to just control the position for now.

Putin has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Putin cracks Big Thing with a left hook right on the temple and Big Thing goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Putin lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Big Thing is OK!
