Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jun Akiyama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ben Tumbling!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yuuki Gou and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Tumbling.
Akiyama takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Tumbling throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Tumbling scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tumbling blocks a low kick nicely.
Tumbling tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Akiyama counters with a single leg into guard. Tumbling didn't expect that.
Tumbling manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Akiyama manages to get himself to full guard.

Akiyama is looking for a triangle but Tumbling pushes his legs off easily.
Tumbling wants to pass the guard but Akiyama is keeping the position.
Tumbling wants to stand but Akiyama has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Akiyama looking for a guillotine here but Tumbling defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Akiyama throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Tumbling slips nicely into half guard.
Tumbling moves nicely into side control.

Tumbling decides to stand back up.
Tumbling throws a sloppy head kick and Akiyama moves out of range easily.
Left hook, right uppercut from Tumbling.
Akiyama leaves Tumbling with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Akiyama shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tumbling sprawls well. Tumbling wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Akiyama gets slowly back to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Akiyama is trying hard to land a takedown here. Tumbling sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Tumbling lands a slapping body shot.

Tumbling throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Akiyama stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Tumbling follows into mount!

Tumbling is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Akiyama taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Tumbling.
