Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Craig Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pete Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Armstrong's entrance music is We Were Soldiers by Sgt. Mackenzie. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Patterson's choice of entrance music: "I'm Too Sexy". Pete Patterson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are James Glass, Richard Clark and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Armstrong looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Armstrong tries to clinch but Patterson is having none of it.
Patterson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Armstrong checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Armstrong shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Patterson but Patterson pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Armstrong moves out of range of the leg kick from Patterson.
Patterson lands a nice leg kick that just misses Armstrong's sensitive parts.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Armstrong tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Patterson was well out of range. Poor timing from Armstrong.

Patterson darts in and clinches Armstrong up against the cage.

Patterson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Armstrong tries to clinch there but Patterson circles away.
Patterson lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

and Patterson counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Horrible takedown by Armstrong or perhaps it was just good defense by Patterson which made him look bad.
Armstrong wants to clinch.
Armstrong fails to land the takedown.
Patterson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Armstrong manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Armstrong checks a leg kick.
Patterson throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
A head kick from Patterson lands but Armstrong takes it in his stride.

It looks like Craig Armstrong has been cut.

Patterson moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pete Patterson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Armstrong throws an overhand right that lands on Patterson's shoulder, as Patterson tries to avoid the shot.
Patterson thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Armstrong if he has to take too many more of those.
Armstrong is breathing heavily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Patterson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Armstrong on the side of the head.
Patterson moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Patterson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Patterson feints and then cracks Armstrong's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Armstrong down.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Patterson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Pete Patterson seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Patterson is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Armstrong walks into a left hand.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Patterson lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Armstrong at a distance.
Patterson is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Armstrong rather than just go for the knockout.
Patterson pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Armstrong throws a lazy right hand but Patterson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Patterson throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Patterson scores with a hook to the body. Armstrong takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
A jab lands there for Patterson.
Patterson is looking to slow Armstrong down with leg kicks.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Patterson lands a glancing blow to the side of Armstrong's head.
Patterson cracks Armstrong with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Armstrong tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Patterson pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Armstrong is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
