Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Asser Toropainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kallo Rattallan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Toropainen comes to the cage accompanied by Paleface-Syntynyt rellestää. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Asser Toropainen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kallo Rattallan!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Tarja Halkonen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rattallan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Toropainen as he avoids it easily.
The crowd cheers as Toropainen lands an impressive looking overhand right. Rattallan doesn't seem phased though.
Toropainen shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rattallan defends it nicely.
Good leg kick by Toropainen there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Rattallan tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Rattallan takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Rattallan walks into a stiff left hand from Toropainen.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Toropainen is defended easily by Rattallan.
Rattallan looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
A lazy left from Toropainen finds it's target.
Rattallan ducks under a wild hook from Toropainen.
Rattallan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Toropainen is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Rattallan's half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Rattallan tries to roll over but Toropainen keeps him under control.

Rattallan slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Rattallan wants to sweep but no luck.
Rattallan looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Toropainen puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Toropainen is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rattallan sees it coming and defends easily.

Rattallan is looking for a sweep. Toropainen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Toropainen thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Rattallan to regain full guard.
Toropainen content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Rattallan is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Rattallan not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Toropainen is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rattallan has escaped the position, nice work there.
Rattallan is looking for a sweep.
Toropainen creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Toropainen looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Toropainen lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Toropainen has knee on belly momentarily but Rattallan bucks him off and regains half guard.
Toropainen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rattallan is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Toropainen scores with a couple of nice shots.
Toropainen prevents Rattallan from improving his position.
Rattallan trying to hold on to Toropainen's head to control him but Toropainen postures up.

Toropainen is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Toropainen is looking for a kimura but Rattallan is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Toropainen to get the leverage.
Toropainen is looking to advance position but Rattallan won't allow it.
Rattallan is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Toropainen's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Toropainen's back!
Toropainen turns into Rattallan and is now in his guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rattallan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Rattallan controls Toropainen momentarily but Toropainen frees himself.
Rattallan wants to sweep but no luck.

Toropainen with a flurry of punches that miss.
Toropainen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Toropainen cracks Rattallan with a solid left hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Toropainen trying to control but Rattallan is working from the bottom.
Toropainen controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Toropainen passes into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Asser Toropainen dominated that round.
That's time! Toropainen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Toropainen lands a nice looking kick to the body. Rattallan takes a step back to recover.
Rattallan takes a swing at Toropainen's ribcage but misses.
Toropainen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rattallan but Rattallan pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Rattallan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Toropainen tries to buck Rattallan off but Rattallan is having none of it.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Toropainen can't do much from the bottom here.
Rattallan in side control lands a decent elbow.
Toropainen manages to work his way to half guard, despite Rattallan's best efforts.
Rattallan lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rattallan throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Rattallan missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Toropainen wants to control but Rattallan is keeping busy.

Rattallan is looking to control the position but Toropainen frees his trapped leg and locks up an armbar from the bottom! It looks tight! Rattallan grimaces and holds on for a second but is forced to tap or have his arm broken! Slick Jiu Jitsu from Toropainen there - Rattallan really paying for some sloppy defensive work!
