The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Richard Clark and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Godley with that takedown attempt.

and George Iv counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Godley ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Godley looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? George Iv is fending him off so far but Godley persists. Nope, George Iv circles away and we're back to standing.
King George Iv has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Godley.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Godley is defended easily by George Iv.
George Iv scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Godley shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as George Iv sprawls well. George Iv wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Godley gets slowly back to his feet.

Godley changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. George Iv tries to avoid it but Godley manages to keep hold of a leg and drag George Iv to the ground. George Iv escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Godley looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? George Iv is fending him off so far but Godley persists. Nope, George Iv circles away and we're back to standing.

George Iv comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Godley ducks right into an uppercut from George Iv.
Godley shoots in looking for a takedown but George Iv manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Godley's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

George Iv jabs Godley right on the nose. Godley blinks but takes it well.
Godley gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

George Iv scores with a sloppy right hand. Godley should have avoided that one.
Godley shoots for a takedown but George Iv saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

George Iv feints a jab promting Godley to slip. George Iv then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Godley slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

George Iv fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Godley on the side of the head.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts George Iv, as that shot connected.
George Iv is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
George Iv smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
George Iv scores with a jab to the head.
George Iv ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
George Iv moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
King George Iv seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Godley walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Godley shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has George Iv pinned against the cage. George Iv gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Donk. George Iv catches Godley right on the button with a cross.
George Iv connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
George Iv stuffs the takedown attempt from Godley. Godley gets slowly back to his feet.
George Iv lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Godley backs up against the cage.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by George Iv!
George Iv displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Godley.

George Iv lands a nice hook to Godley's body. Godley takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

George Iv misses with a few strikes there.
Godley takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

King George Iv is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Godley feints and as George Iv raises his hands in defense, Godley changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Godley with a flurry of punches that miss.
George Iv utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Godley is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Godley works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Godley thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed George Iv's head.

Godley is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so George Iv is just riding it out for now. Godley eventually gives up the hold.

George Iv knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Godley on the ground.

Godley is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and George Iv defends it well.
