The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jassikka shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gonzales as he jumps to the side.
Jassikka misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jassikka shoots in for a takedown but Gonzales shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jouko Jassikka. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gonzales moves in looking to clinch but Jassikka pushes him off.
Cristian Gonzales seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jassikka moves into full guard.
Jassikka bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gonzales's guard.
Gonzales controls Jassikka momentarily but Jassikka frees himself.

Jassikka thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Gonzales is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Gonzales wants to stand and escape but Jassikka is having none of it.

Gonzales working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jassikka doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jassikka manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Gonzales really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jassikka. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gonzales will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gonzales is looking to stall here but Jassikka recovers full guard.

Gonzales is sitting in close to Jassikka's body. Jassikka has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Gonzales is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Gonzales is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Jassikka.
