The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Kavanagh and David Schapiro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wainui displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jones throws out the jab.
Wainui shoots in and drives through. Jones sprawls well.
Jones fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wainui manages to avoid it.
Jones drops his hands momentarily and Wainui takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Jones wants to clinch up but Wainui keeps it at a distance.

Jones closes the distance and clinches.
Wainui throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Joness head.
Wainui blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Wainui wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
A nice left hand lands by Wainui.

Wainui looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Wainui closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Wainui lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Jones thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jones wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Wainui is now in half guard.

Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wainui. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jones takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Jones connects with a single shot there.
Wainui misses the shot to the body.
Jones slips a jab from Wainui.
Wainui scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Wainui connects with a good right hand that stumbles Jones. Jones circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Wainui fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Jones is out of range.
Jones getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Wainui shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jones pinned against the cage. Jones gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Wainui shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jones defends it nicely.

Wainui will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Jones blocks the body kick.
Jones looks to land a left hand but Wainui moved out of range nicely.
Jones swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Jones jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Wainui throws a lazy right hand but Jones sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Jones misses with a straight left.
Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jones slips under a jab from Wainui.
Cheezus Jones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jones does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Jones darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Decent striking displayed by Jones there.
Jones moves away from the strike by Wainui.
Jones tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Wainui scores with a crisp jab that stopped Jones in his tracks.
Good work by Jones as he checks the leg kick.
Jones fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Wainui has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jones leaves Wainui with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jones is still on wobbly legs! Can Wainui finish him?
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Wainui drops Jones with a naaaaasty hook - Jones is in real trouble here! Wainui dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
