Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Xavier Essien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Marques (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Xavier Essien had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 146.0lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Carlos Marques will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Marques is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Marques wants to get back to his feet.

Essien is trying to get an arm triangle but Marques is defending well.
Marques is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Essien tries to advance to mount but Marques denies him.

Marques tries to escape back to his feet but Essien has kept hold of him... Oh, now he's got Marques's back and is looking for the choke... Is it? Is it sunk in? YES! Marques is tapping! Essien saw the opportunity and took it - ruthless!
