The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jons has closed the distance and engaged Gibson in a clinch.
Jons tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Gibson smiles and moves away.
Gibson looks to score with a jab to the body but Jons is just out of range.
Jons shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gibson as he avoids it easily.
Jons shoots in looking for a takedown. Gibson tries to sprawl out of it but Jons keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gibson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Jons. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jons misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gibson shoots in for a takedown but Jons shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Gibson is looking to sinch up a triangle. Jons throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Gibson's body to avoid the submission. Gibson has instead reached around Jons's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Gibson arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
