Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paula Abdul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jarrod Wyatt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paula Abdul!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jarrod Wyatt!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abdul takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Wyatt pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Abdul scores with a sloppy right hand. Wyatt should have avoided that one.
A nice leg kick lands there from Wyatt.
Abdul fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wyatt manages to avoid it.
A decent looking cross lands there for Abdul.
A nice inside leg kick there by Wyatt. That's going to slow Abdul down.
A looping hook to the body misses from Abdul. Wyatt does a little dance to reset his feet.
A head kick misses from Wyatt.
Wyatt tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Abdul jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Wyatt does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Wyatt feints and then cracks Abdul's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Abdul down.

Wyatt lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Wyatt connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Wyatt shoots for a double leg takedown but Abdul sprawls well. He's pushed Wyatt's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Wyatt changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Abdul looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
You can see the frustration on Abdul's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The referee asks Wyatt politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Wyatt prefers to stall for the moment though.

Wyatt's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Abdul feints a jab promting Wyatt to slip. Abdul then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Wyatt slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Abdul is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Abdul throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Wyatt stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well Wyatt has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
