Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Casey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Hudson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Hudson looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Casey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, James Hudson!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Anni Minnemäki and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Casey misses with a takedown attempt

so Hudson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Hudson throwing strikes from guard but Casey blocks nicely.
Casey not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hudson works over Casey with some ground and pound from guard.

Hudson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Casey is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Casey has escaped and now he's on top!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hudson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Casey is looking to stand up but Hudson won't let him.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Casey decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hudson, up you get!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Casey is looking to stand up but Hudson won't let him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up because John Casey just wasn't active enough.
Casey misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that John Casey will probably get the nod.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Casey here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Casey is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Hudson manages to get to full guard.
Casey makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Casey is looking to advance position but Hudson has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Hudson jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Casey is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Casey and Hudson has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Hudson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Casey knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Casey has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hudson is working away from the top position though.

Hudson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Casey is just riding it out for now. Hudson eventually gives up the hold.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hudson drops back looking for a leg! Casey is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Casey manages to kick Hudson off! Hudson jumps back into Casey's guard.
Casey manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hudson manages to get himself to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Casey dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Casey might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hudson cracks Casey with a solid left hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hudson stands up over Casey, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

John Casey is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
